Melasti Beach – A Beauty Hidden Below The Cliff

Melasti Beach, which is also called Melasti Beach Ungasan, is a marine paradise in the village of Ungasan. Melasti Beach got its nam because Melasti ceremonies are often held on this beach before Nyepi by people who live in the area.

Melasti Beach Ungasan is a good place to go on vacation with family, friends, or a significant-other, especially if you’re tired of crowds.

Melasti Beach is very popular on social media due to its view and somehow it still feels like a fresh natural beach. Usually not many tourists know about Melasti Beach. Even for the local travelers, apparently not many people familiar with Melasti Beach. Most people just go to default bali beach like Kuta or Nusa Dua.

While most beaches in Bali are beautiful, not so many of the beauty can get caught well on camera. Melasti Beach is not that kind of beach. On a high cliff far before you going down the beach, you can already see how beautiful the beach is. The best shot you can take with a camera is from among the limestone cliffs.

Where is it located

This beach is on the Bukit Peninsula, Ungasan. Therefore “Melasti Ungasan” beach is the more common name for this beach. Melasti Beach Ungasan is in the village of Ungasan, in the South Kuta sub-district of the Badung regency of Bali.

If you choose to stay in the tourist area of Nusa Dua, Bali, it will be about 12 kilometers away and take about 40 minutes to get there. If the place you want to stay in Canggu Bali is in a tourist area. Then it will go about 26 kilometers, which should take about 1 hour and 20 minutes.

What to Expect

Melasti Beach is one of the cleanest beach in Bali. The contrast between the majestic view of the huge cliff and the warm sunshine combined with the beautiful blue sea water, white sands and soothing gentle breeze is something that everyone should experience in person.

On the way to Meslati Beach, the drive is amazing. You’ll be greeted by the curvy road with gentle winds and the limestone cliffs.

Before going down to the beach itself, most people cant help themselves to stop at one of the lookout points and take a picture of the turquoise water from above. The view is just that breathtaking!

Best time to visit Melasti Beach

It’s up to you and your preferences when you want to visit during the day. You can go for a walk at sunrise, lay out in the hot sun during the day, or watch the sun set at the end of the day. Really, any time is a good time.

Entrance Fee               : IDR 10.000 / Person

Motorcycle Parking    : IDR 2.000 / Vehicle

Car Parking                 : IDR 5.000 / Vehicle

What to do at Melasti Beach

Melasti Beach Bali is generally a beautiful comfort beach where people go to spend the whole day. The only water sport you can do is swim in the calm, turquoise water of the Indian Ocean. It is one of the cleanest beaches in Bali and a great place to come to relax and soak up some warm Bali sun. There are three parts to Pantai Melasti. At low tide, small rockpools form along the middle part’s shoreline, making it a great place to cool off. This is where most people come, but you should also check out the eastern and western parts.

On the east side, there is a limestone cape that was made by nature, and on the west side is the best place to watch the sunset. The beach is surrounded by cliffs, and if you look closely, you can find several spots from which you can see the ocean in a beautiful way. There is also a brand-new arena where ceremonies and shows can be held.

The attraction of Melasti Beach is the beach atmosphere which is still very natural. Being among the limestone cliffs is the best viewpoint that you can capture with a camera. It is located in Ungasan village, South Kuta sub-district, Badung regency – Bali. Melasti Beach is one of the cleanest beaches in Bali and the perfect place to come and relax and soak up some Bali sun. The beach is surrounded by cliffs and if you look closely, you’ll find a number of viewpoints with stunning views of the ocean.
